Stage 3 Separation

Stage 3 Separation provides solids control and fluid separation services across energy, construction, industrial, municipal and marine sectors in North America. Work covers solids and liquids separation, slurry dewatering, closed-loop solids control and oil-water separation.

The company is supported by field technicians, field supervisors, engineers and scientists, and runs an in-house research and development team that custom designs and fabricates equipment. Orders are configured per project rather than supplied from a fixed catalogue.

## Solids control for drilling

Stage 3 works wellsite locations, central processing, liquid mud plants and disposal facilities, across:

- Percussion and cable drilling
- Rotary drilling
- Dual-wall reverse circulation
- Electro-drilling
- Directional drilling

Rather than operating on a rental-only model, the company captures data from equipment during operation, collecting more than 500 data points per second so technicians can monitor and adjust site performance in real time. It has developed proprietary algorithms intended to reduce discrepancies in solids control, drilling fluid and drilling waste data.

## Equipment

The fleet runs 670 IoT-enabled centrifuges alongside tanks and shakers, and includes the patented MudCube dewatering technology.

The variable frequency drive centrifuges perform three-phase separation of oil, water and solids at industrial scale. The BE 300-C is a modular system with a compact footprint suited to space-constrained sites.

## Waste treatment and reuse

Onsite treatment is offered as an alternative to hauling untreated slurry waste, with the aim of returning waste fluid to recyclable condition and reducing disposal volumes. The company describes its program as delivering limited to no discharge outcomes, managing waste by feedstock type.
